Lexmark has sold its enterprise software business to “private equity firm” Thoma Bravo.

Smiley Pete Publishing reported that Lexmark’s software business has been bought by Thoma Bravo after the OEM announced it was keen to sell the division in April 2016 after it was acquired by Apex Technology.

Seth Boro, Managing Patner, Thoma Bravo, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be acquiring the Lexmark Enterprise Software business as it contains some of the most advanced digital transformation technologies in the industry.”

The software division known as Kofax is one of several others that Thoma Bravo has bought and the company said that it would be selling “part of the software and imaging software […] to Hyland Software Inc.” while Kofax and ReadSoft will “become a new Thoma Bravo company under the Kofax name which will be run by Reynolds Bish, the “current President of Lexmark’s enterprise software division”.
