Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) has given clearance to the proposed acquisition of Lexmark by a consortium led by Apex.
Along with the clearance, Lexmark and the consortium were also required to enter into a National Agreement with Departments of Defense and Homeland Security.
According to OPI, CFIUS conducted a 30-day review into the transaction as well as a 45-day investigation. No unresolved national security issues were found relating to the proposed acquisition.
The deal is said to remain subject to approval from China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) and other customary closing conditions.
The parties of the transaction can expect to complete the deal by the end of 2016.
