The Recycler’s Stefanie Unland, Armor Office Printing’s Gerwald van der Gijp and Greenman AB’s Jorgen Wonisch were appointed to the board at Focus on Europe.
Unland, Managing Editor of The Recycler, has become the first woman to be appointed to the board of ETIRA, while van der Gijp, Armor Office Printing’s Vice President and General Manager, and Wonisch, CEO of Swedish remanufacturer Greenman AB, have also joined as board members. All three were named at ETIRA’s annual general meeting at The Recycler’s Focus on Europe event, which took place in Lisbon, Portugal on 16 and 17 June – you can read our reports here and here.
David Connett, founding member of ETIRA and Vice-President, stepped down due to becoming CEO of Triton Precision Engineering, as did OCP’s Carsten Edelmeier and Armor’s Pierre-Antoine Pluvinage. Other members of the board remaining include LVL’s Philippe Guenin, KMP’s Jan-Michael Sieg, Consuprint’s Javier Martinez and Pelikan’s Joachim Kretschmer.
Unland stated: “In my 10 years in the remanufacturing industry, I have seen a lot of change, and continue to see change ahead. ETIRA has always been at the forefront in terms of supporting the remanufacturing industry in these changing times, so I am excited and honoured to be able to do anything I can to support ETIRA and continue its good work.”
Vincent van Dijk, Secretary General of ETIRA, commented that “it was a pity to see David Connett leave the association: he was a very active board member and provided great input. But we are also very excited about working with Stefanie and her team at The Recycler: only together can we spread the message about the benefits of remanufacturing!”
Christian Wernhart, President of ETIRA, added: “I am pleased to have served as President for 10 years now. But I am a person who rather looks to the future than to the past. With the new board, I am confident we will have the right team in place to address the challenges before us. Our industry is going through a process of consolidation, and markets are still under pressure of lower print volumes and low pricing. We need to fight for our position, and ETIRA helps us to do just that.”
