An article discussed the upsurge of demand for mobile printing solutions.

According to app developer Magazine one billion employees will be bringing their own devices to work by 2018 and the “Global Mobile Printing market will see a CAGR of 32.5 percent 2014 to 2019” analysts said.

IDC research said that 75 percent of users found it easier to send documents from their smart phones to an MFP or the business network using a cloud based solution with Wi-Fi being another option and mobile workers are more productive if they can print on the go.

New generations like to print direct from social networks, phones and iPads and the industry is responding to the growing demand by promoting it and the article noted that “non-profit Mopria Alliance was formed in 2013 to promote the use of mobile printing by developing standards enabling printing from phone and other devices to printers across the manufacturers.

Mopria developed the “Mopria mark” so that users could identify devices that are “mobile print ready” and Mopria print is embedded in many smart phones, iPads and other devices negating the need for app downloads or a set up programme. Early this year the Alliance saw 500 million installations with 300 million users which goes to show how important this industry is and the demand is down to the need for convenience.
