The final quarter of 2015 saw a 4.9% year-over-year (YOY) decrease in both inkjet and laser units shipped.

According to research by International Data Corporation (IDC):

  • Few segments saw any significant growth, with only A3 color MFP devices showing any real laser growth increase in Western Europe;
  • Most color growth was from A3 MFP products, with only color MFP products showing a double-digit increase;
  • Business inkjet growth stuttered with a staggering 29% decrease in printers.

Looking at the regions more specifically, the German market followed the overall negative trend seen throughout Western Europe, as did France and the U.K. Despite an overall decline of 0.4% in Q4 2015, France still performed better than the Western European average.
